Fallen Angels, before Noah

The fallen angels
Satan is not a symbol of evil, it is real.  There is a dramatic disconnect between the Bible writers, and believers today.  Let me give you an example, the concept of “the gods.”  We look at it as too much money, or watching too much football. We abstract the idea of the biblical gods.
Dr Michael Heisser says, to the people of the bible “the gods” were real entities. They were a real threat. Spiritual warfare is not a modern charismatic idea. It has deep roots in the Old Testament.

God has no need of a council, but He uses one. He created the heavenly host to share the works of His hands, and to carry out His will. Job 38:4-7 “Where were you (Job) at my laying the foundation of the earth? ….when the morning stars were singing together and all the sons of God shouted for joy?”
We know now that God’s entourage, the angels, existed long before us. They were there to watch when God created the earth and us.

What do we know about these beings. Jude, the brother of Jesus Christ, provides us with a startling read.
Jude 1:6 “And the angels
which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation,
he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness
unto the judgment of the great day.
7.Even as Sodom and Gomorrha….
in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication,
and going after strange flesh,
are set forth for… eternal fire.
8. Likewise also these filthy dreamers
defile the flesh,
despise dominion,
and speak evil of dignities.
13. Raging waves of the sea,
foaming out their own shame;
wandering stars,
to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
14. And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam,
prophesied of these, saying,
Behold the Lord cometh with then thousands of his saints.”
We know now there are some angels who left their “home”. These beings gave themselves over to sexual sins, with beings that is different from them. God took them all in the flood. Enoch, who lived in the time of Noah, wrote about these beings.
Peter wrote about these angels too. 2 Peter 2:4 “For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but held them captive in Tartarus with chains of darkness and handed them over to be kept for judgment, 5. and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah. 10. …and especially those who go after the flesh in defiling lust and who despise authority.”

Jesus himself talked about the time of Noah. Matthew 24:37 “As the days of Noah were, so shall the coming of the Son of Man be”. So, what happened at the time of Noah, and who was Enoch?
We read in Genesis 5 that Enoch was the grand grandfather of Noah. He was very close to God. Genesis 5:24 “And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.” The “book of Enoch” is not in the Bible. It is part of Jewish literature, but it was also part of the scrolls found at The Dead Sea.
It is the time of Noah, and we read this. Genesis 6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply o the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, 2. That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 4. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them.
The book of Enoch echoes this. 1 Enoch 6-11 And when the sons of men had multiplied, in those days, beautiful and comely daughters were born to them. And the watchers, the sons of heaven, saw them and desired them. And they said to one another, “Come, let us choose for ourselves wives from the daughters of men, and let us beget for ourselves children.”
We read more about these fallen angels and the things they taught human beings. An example is here in Enoch 8 “Moreover Azazel taught men to make swords, knives, shields, breastplates… And there arose much godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and became corrupt in all their ways.”
We read about this same entity in Moses writings. Leviticus 16:8 Then Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats: one lot for Yahweh and one for Azazel.

The english word “giants” is the translation of the Hebrew word “Nephilim.” It comes from the verb “naphal” which means “to fall”, thus often referred to as “the fallen ones.”
That is what happened in the time of Noah. The DNA of the fallen angels and human beings mixed. The flood was God in His mercy reaching out to humanity, to save it from total DNA corruption.
The word used to describe Noah as perfect is “tamim”. It refers in every other biblical passage to the unblemished flesh for an animal presented for sacrifice to God.

The modern mind cannot tolerate the sexual component. Matthew 22:30 “At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage, they will be like the angels in heaven.” It is important to notice that, according to Jude, the angels left their habitat.
Let us look further into this. The biblical book Job is the oldest book in the Bible. Here we read Job 4:18 “Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly.” What is folly you ask?
The Septuagint was the Greek version of the Old Testament. The one Jesus himself red from when He was walking around on earth. Here we read Job 4:18 Whereas he trust not in his servants, and perceives perverseness in his angels.
Furthermore, we can use cross references. That is looking at other verses in the Old Testament, using the word “folly”, in the same context.
Genesis 34:7 “And the sons of Jacob came out of the field when they heart it… they were very wroth, because he had wrought folly in Israel in lying with Jacob’s daughter.”
2 Samuel 13:11-12 “Come lie with me, my sister. And she answered him, Nay, my brother… do not thou this folly.”

If you think it is a new idea, think again.  Hollywood is obsessed with this theme, think “Beauty and the Beast”, “Twilight”, “The shape of water”, and many others.
