The Rapture

WHAT IS THE RAPTURE

“HARPAZO”

The Greek word for Rapture is “harpazo”. It means “caught up” or snatched away”. One moment you there, and the next moment you’re gone. “We will all be changed in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye.” (1 Corinthians 15:51-51)

For example, Philip was “harpazo” after he baptised the eunuch.  Acts 8:39 “When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and the eunuch did not see him again.”

COMFORT

Paul wrote, we can comfort each other with the rapture.  I Thessalonians 4:17 “After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.  And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore comfort one another with these words.”

BLESSED HOPE

Titus wrote it is our blessed hope in troubled times. Titus 2:13 “Looking for the blessed hope and the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Christ Jesus.”

WHEN WILL IT HAPPEN

The Rapture is imminent, and it will come sudden. Matthew 25:13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”

WHY THE RAPTURE

  • WRATH OF GOD

God’s wrath is not for the believer. The sins of the believer came down on Christ Jesus at the cross. That is to say, He paid for it at the cross, once and for all. Romans 5:9 Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through him!

LAW OF DOUBLE JEOPARDY

The law of double jeopardy applies here.  Consequently, the same sin is never punished twice. Once it is punished, you are a free person. Romans 8:15-17 For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, “Abba! Father!” The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs.

Gods wrath is for those who reject Him. They will bear the punishment for their sins themselves. It will come down on themselves. Isaiah 13:9 Behold, the day of the Lord comes, cruel, with wrath and fierce anger, to make the land a desolation and to destroy its sinners from it.

THE BRIDE

The Church is the bride of Christ waiting for a glorious wedding banquet. The Rapture is when believers goes up for the consummation of the marriage.  Jesus Christ will not beat up His bride and then marry her. Romans 8:1 Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

  • RESTRAINER REMOVED

HOLY SPIRIT

The Apostle Paul told the church at Thessalonika that an antichrist would come, once the restraining force is gone.  II Thessalonians 2:6-7 And you know what restrains him now, so that in his time he will be revealed. For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is removed.

BELIEVERS

What is the restraining force that keeps the antichrist back at the moment? The Holy Spirit that lives in us. I Corinthians 6:19-20 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price.

The Holy Spirit is omnipresent.  However, everyone that carries the Holy Spirit is a major obstacle, for the antichrist, to unleash his power on earth. No wonder the world hates us!

ANOTHER HOLOCAUST

Some Christians, mainly in USA, stands with Israel today. Once the Rapture removes them, Israel will have no ally left in this world. Therefore, they will line up for another Holocaust, according to bible prophecy.

  • ISRAEL’S PROMISES FULFILLED

CHURCH IN THE WAY

God has business to complete with Israel, and the Church has no business there.   II Samuel 7:13,16 “He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever. And your house and your kingdom shall be made sure for ever before me; your throne shall be established for ever.” God made a covenant with David, and this is outstanding.

DAVIDIC COVENANT

The angel Gabriel had this covenant in mind when he spoke to Mary. Luke 1:32-33 “He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David, and He will reign over the house of Jacob for ever. His kingdom will never end!”

Israel rejected their Messiah, 2000 years ago, but God is not done with them. The Bible tells us the seven year of tribulation will bring Israel to the end of itself. As a result, they will accept Jesus Christ as their Saviour.   Zech 12:10 They will look on Me whom they have pierced; and they will mourn for Him, as one mourns for an only son, and they will weep bitterly over Him like the bitter weeping over a firstborn.

The nation of Israel, the remnant, will get saved. Jer 30:7 How awful that day will be! None will be like it. It will be a time of trouble for Jacob, but he will be saved out of it. (Jacob is Israel.)

  • NO MENTIONING OF THE CHURCH

PROPHETS

The prophets in the Old Testament wrote extensively about the time after the Rapture.  Jeremiah calls it “Jacobs trouble”, Joel calls it “the great and terrible day of the Lord, and others calls it “in the last days”.  Meanwhile, the Church cannot be found in any biblical content during this time.”

BOOK OF REVELATION

Chapters 2 and 3 of the book of Revelation covers the Church and the “church age”, in detail. Most bible scholars believe the Rapture of the Church happens in Revelation 4, with the exception of Dr Baruch Korman.  He says the Rapture happens in the beginning of Revelation 7. The one thing everyone agrees on is that the Church is not once mentioned again.

All the Old Testament descriptions are used for Jesus Christ.  For example, “the Lion of the tribe of Judah” and “the Root of David”

From here on, God is moving fast and his eyes is on Israel.  The Church, now married to Jesus Christ, appears again in Revelation 19.  That is to say, they are with Him when He comes to defeat the enemy at Armageddon.

  • ANCIENT JEWISH WEDDING

Jesus and his disciples was Jews from Galilea. He had the Jewish wedding of His day in mind when he told his disciples about Christ and His bride, the Church.

The moment the bride is carried away in the air to her new home was part of the tradition of the Galilean wedding.  This is the Rapture.  See more  The Ancient Jewish Wedding

  • THE SAME PROCEDURE

NOAH

God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  He has always saved His own before He poured out His wrath.  He saved Noah from the flood and Lot from the brimstone at Sodom and Gemorrah.  Likewise He saved Rahab when Jericho fell, and many others.

GOD SAVES

God’s heart is to save us.  His cross the way to escape the terrible time that will come on earth.  See more Covenant Friend, Jesus

John 14:1-3 “Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I WILL COME AGAIN, AND RECEIVE YOU UNTO MYSELF; that where I am, there ye may be also.”
